Time to Get Busy!
Just got home from a MUCH needed vacation. Destin and I went camping near Bay City. It was an excellent trip, but it really made me realize how nice it was to be living on my own. I know it won't be much longer before Destin and I are looking for another apartment - hopefully less than a year - but I crave it like a kid craves candy. It will just be a matter of time, patience, and hard work, just like everything else I want. Maybe the wait will make it all the sweeter? That's what I keep telling myself at least.
In the writing world, I haven't done much the last week. As any good vacation does, it took me away from my world at home. Today is my first full day back. I'm already working at the newsstand, but maybe I can write a little bit on my break. I do know things are going to be harder again. I have to take 8 credit hours this semester along with working 25-35 hours at the newsstand. When I get busy like this I always worry that I'll lose sight of my real goals and not have any time or energy to write. Thankfully, this is my last semester before I can finally take home that stinking Creative Writing degree and hang it above my desk (what else is there to do with it?).
I know I sound like a Negative Nancy. I just have to learn to budget my time a little better.
On a completely unrelated note, I started The Magicians by Lev Grossman. So far I really like it!
