Earlier in the week, John and I had planned a Date Night for tonight. Due to a misunderstanding about the scheduling, John arrived home from work early yesterday, in order to be ready for Date Night. Since he was geeked about it and I had no other plans for yesterday evening, we ended up going out for dinner and then seeing Paul at the movie theater (mini-review: better than expected, don't really know why it's rated R).
This left tonight wide open, which worked out nicely because Aiden called and said "We're bored, do you guys want to do something tonight?" I remembered about a place we had been meaning to try, and so we all found ourselves at Palazzo Di Bocce. John turned out to be a natural at the game, but also didn't want to play much. Alex was happy to take all of John's turns, and probably scored more points than I did.
The setting was lovely, the game was fun, the food was delicious if slightly pricey, and we've already discussed what we'd do differently "next time" (eat at one of the "real" tables either before or after playing, since the lanes are rented in 90 minute segments and we spent at least 30 minutes consuming food).
It's almost like John knew tonight would end up busy, and rescheduled around it. Hmmmmmmmm.
