I filled up with petrol this morning - 119.9p per litre. Ouch! Luckily I had a 5p off every litre voucher my Dad had got (yay Sainsburys!).

Mind you, the cheapest I've seen recently is about 118.9p per litre! So not exactly much choice.
So I decided to calculate what that price is to be equivalent to US prices...

What I paid today would equal £4. ( Read more... )

That's a load of rubbish I reckon, cause I only earn £10K a year, before tax, and can afford £368 a month rent/bills and all my expenses..

Blimey! I wouldn't have thought anyone would be able to live on that! One of my friends is on £14K at the moment and is sharing a flat with a friend, and they're only just getting by.

Not trying to pry (so feel free not to answer!), but do you actually manage to have cash left over after rent/bills and the car after a pay packet?

I do, yeah. On average I pay £368 rent, £300-£400 credit card bill (previous months food, petrol, expenses) and the rest is usually overdraft fodder! (At the moment the extra is paying my huge car bill off!) but yeah, somehow I'm getting by!

Well then I commend you on your ability to budget or whatever you're doing! You should teach a course in it to all those who aren't so good at it. ;-)
