Poem: Always, the Beginning

Always 4/4/11

The Beginning

You saw her in sunlight bare and brilliant
And you loved her.
You loved her before you knew what love was.
They teased her hard, but you never left her side.
Her fiery hair matched her unconquerable spirit.
And head over heels you fell.

Back at school loving her was never the thing to do.
Children are truly cruel.
Rivalry and loyalties tried, two houses stood between you two.
But love was what drew you to her
Hardened and untrusting, your love for her rotted in the prison of your heart.
Until one word said was one word too many
She severed her ties to you
And in it she shattered your heart.

Cold and broken
Lost in you
She found the love to carry on
And carry right into another's arms.
For many nights your cries echoed the stony walls.

For her Always.

Okay so what did you think?? For those out there who still read this crap! I was listening to Hallelujah by Rufus Weinright a lot while writing this. Guess who I am talking about?? There are three parts. I'll post them as I finish them. I kind of like this. It's something new I'm trying.
