Everything is well. I finally have time to write.
Easter holidays was a blast! A busy, long, tiring, heck-of-a good time!
It started with the "Grandparents World Tour" with my sister and mother. We spent three days and two nights travelling around to visit my grandparents. Saw lots of family, ate tons of good food, and was really glad when Tim met us in Stony Plain to spend the night at my dad's parents. It was wonderful! I love old people. ;)
Another highlight of the holidays was getting to see Boog n' his new "little big" brother Mack. Boog was so excited to see me, and Corey claims that he still only acts super-nutty with me. When I come to the door, he's a mad man!! And Mack is a great dane, so at 4 months old he's already bigger than Boog (black lab X border collie)... And my God! He's cute as a button, so friendly and outgoing, and almost has me convinced that I wouldn't mind having a great dane, LoL! But anyways, we made a trip to the dog park. I got to spend some time catching up with Corey. And spending time with those 2 dogs was most definetly a "mentionable" part of my holidays. Can't wait to move back to Edmonton and spend more time with those two lil' men.
Then Tim & I went to Canmore and to Banff, and spent a lovely 3 nights in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta... My favourite place to be, my heaven on Earth. Our hotel room was phenomenal, and the view of the mountains was breathtaking. We started each day with a huge breakfast, and tried not to overwhelm ourselves with too much stuff to do... Our trip consisted of great food (The Grizzly House in Banff being the best of the best), a couples massage (which was nice, despite the therapist dropping the stones constantly), a ride on the gondola, and a trip to the hot springs (which was lovely with the snow falling). We tried to keep the trip as "relaxing" as possible, as we knew we were so busy leading up to and after the trip. It was amazing though... I realized again that I am falling more and more in love with Tim all the time, and it's glorious! Everytime I look at him, I see another reason that I love him. I am so fortunate to have him in my life!
And the holidays ended with two other wonderous things! A visit to Calgary with Amanda & Andrew, and the 1st Annual charity poker tournament for the Canadian CF Foundation with my friends and family in Edmonton. What can I say, visiting with Amanda & Andrew is like reuniting with family members or close friends you haven't seen in a while. They're home is lovely and it was great to spend time with them! And the poker tournament... WOW! What a success. What generous and thoughtful friends Tim & I, and my sister and brother in-law have!! We raised over $400 for our team in the Great Strides Walk (but more inportantly, the CCFF)... Or more specifically $366.42!!! It will end up being quite a bit more, once we sell the rest of the "fundraising beer" at the next poker tournament. So I gotta say again, WOW! Everyone showed up, and showed their support for this very wonderful cause! I'd post more about it, but what can I say? Good friends, good food, and good times!
Tim & I also had the chance to stop by the house we're going to be renting when we move back to Edmonton in the late summer/fall (haven't decided a specific time yet). But we decided a while ago that although it would be nice to stay in Regina with his family and friends, it's more important for Tim's health to be in Edmonton and close to the doctor's. It will be hard to leave all the family and friends I've made in Regina, and my job here. But with all my family and lots of our friends being in Edmonton, I know it will be a positive move! But back to the house, it's owned by a family friend of my parents. He lives out of town with his fiancee, but may need to stay in his house with us on occasion, which is not a problem at all!! The house is beautiful, the yard is big, and best of all, we CAN GET A DOG!! Eeeeek!! That's the most exciting part for me. But it's nice knowing that when we move, we won't need to find a place to live, that this house will be waiting for us. It's perfect for Tim & I, and whatever four-legged friend we end up with, so I'm very very excited to be moving back and to have this house to move in to. Oh, and did I mention that the rent is SUPER cheap?!?!
So this was my holidays, in a nut-shell. Most important thing that happened over the holidays, was not the things I did or the places I went. It was the people. My fabulous grandparents and family members, my wonderful sister and brother in-law, my parents who are oh-so-amazing, my many friends who are always supportive and always kick ass. And Tim... I never thought I had the capacity to love someone as much as I love him. I am so blessed to have him in my life. He's my best friend and my love. Isn't life beautiful??
Sending positive thoughts to each and every one of you.
Meg, I hope you and Kelly are being strong for each other, and that you know I think of you often.
James, your positivity inspires me.
Eva, I think about you often, and was so honoured to share the documentary with my family and loved ones. You are a blessing in my life, and I am forever grateful.
Much love to you all!
