... is so touched this morning! The good in humanity will never cease to amaze me... And if you need any proof at all on how Eva's story affected people and lives in this world, this is a perfect example!
This morning I had one of my Grade 4 girls come in to my work room, with a Ziploc bag full of change and a few $5 bills. This wonderful girl went on to tell me that her and a few of her friends had made bracelets to sell and raise money for the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation... My word, I'm just about in tears right now talking about it again. These four 9 year old girls have raised over $40 for the CCFF, and not because anyone asked them too or told them that they should, but just out of the kindness out of their hearts. They had been touched by hearing Tim's & Eva's stories, and by Eva's passing, that they took the initiative to do something on their own, to raise money to help find a cure!! She also explained to me that the third week in April her and her friends are organizing a Spring Carnival (This is a 9 year old, remember!) in the park by her house, also to raise money for the CCFF fundraiser in May, now appropriately named the "Eva Markvoort Memorial Fund", at my friend James suggestion. She said they want to have a bake sale, face painting and karaoke!! I can't believe it... I offered to help out in any way I could. I cannot believe how these children desire to go above and beyond expectations to really make a difference not only in the lives of people with CF, but in the world as well!!
If I make it through the day without shedding another tear, I'd be really, really surprised.
I love life. I love this world. I love people. I love Tim. I love Eva. I love Meg. I love everyone who has brought all these positive changes in to my life. I am absolutely glowing because of all of you!
I can't wait to update you as to how our Charity Poker tournament goes next weekend (the 10th of April) to raise funds also for the CCFF. It's gonna be a good time filled with family, friends, prizes, food and drinks! Then in May I will begin the Pocket Change Drive here at my school, with the help of these 4 girls who took so much initiative to make a difference... They're going to "christen" our big 19L water jug but entering the money they raised at our Monday morning assembly. That will be a proud moment for our school, for myself, and for those students, I can tell you that! Then I have one more poker tournament fundraiser in May to plan yet. But after doing one back home in Edmonton, it'll be a lot easier to plan. We'll have a good idea of what works and what doesn't work. But Wow... Just, wow!
Thanks Eva. Thanks to each and every one of you!
Positive thoughts & energy to each and every one of you!!
Love, love, love... And love some more!
