Yeah, there's a whole group of these people out there, and they get shit too. His wasn't as bad, and he admitted that, as others' experiences, but it's quite common. And it's horrible.

I got it, too, well into middle school, except back in those days "gay" wasn't the juvenile insult du jour. Still, all this light on bullying brings up plenty of shit for me.

Yeah, it's ridiculous that it happens when teenagers are already going through enough issues with their own sexuality and what they want/are etc, to add teasing for any reason in this are as if any of this is negative (being gay, bi, trans etc) is ridic.

Good stuff! Have you seen the original Joel Burns video? He's a councilman about 30 mins away from where I live.

BE PREPARED. For srs. I'm not a crier by any stretch of the imagination, but it had me a bit teary.

It's really fucking disgusting what's happening to kids these days, even worse when parents are the cause. It's like, what the fuck happened to unconditional love? Kids have enough shit to go through without worrying that their parents don't love them because they're gay, or whatever other thing they think is "wrong" with them. And the way children and teenagers treat each other today? Makes me scared to have any.

Fort Worth, Texas, my hometown. What a beautiful thing that was, and is. :)

Go him and everyone else at the It Gets Better project.

'Course despite years of teachers and parents telling me not to fight back, I never ended up learning that lesson.

I am so, so sad that you found that amazing - and not because of anything to do with you.

No, that's fair. I feel the same way about outsider's opinions about Judaism sometimes.
