Well, at the risk of sounding like a hard ass. He was 72. I don't think he killed himself, since the reports vary, but if he didn't, then it's not a complete surprise.

With all the breakthroughs in the medical field, 72 now seems young to die. Although, if you've lived hard and not taken care of yourself, it can definitely take its toll. I'll be curious to see what the offical cause of death turns out to be.
