So... sorry that I haven't been as on top of things with the LJ lately, but my sis (aka "The Bride") was in town to do Wedding stuff, and as the Maid of Honor I was quite busy assisting her. The good news: We booked the church and the reception hall for Oct. 10, 2008!!! Hooray. And now she goes to Cali and we can take a break from the planning... at least for a little while. I'm exhausted already.
As you could probably tell from the title of this entry, Camp Walnut has begun. Today was the first day of Camp and it was insane! So much fun though. Our group had to come up with our own "Camp Song" so we put new lyrics to "Respect" by Aretha. It turned out pretty good... Here are some lyrics: "W-A-L-N-U-T that's the place I want to be. W-A-L-N-U-T the freshest place in Philly."
I love being a director and I love my group. We have so much diversity - and we also have BOYS! Usually the acting classes I teach are all girls, so this is great. We are finally well balanced. Although one girl in my group has already claimed the French Canadian boy in the group, flirting with him shamelessly and calling him her "little French fry." Gotta give the girl points for her forwardness. She knows what she wants! Since I will be spending everyday with these 13 year-olds I expect my own behavior will soon mimic theirs... don't be shocked when it happens, they are already teaching me about this "Lip Gloss" song... wow. I am so cool.
Well, off to bed since I have to get up and do it all again tomorrow morning... =)
