last night i had one of those "OMG i know this is definately what i want to do with my life" moments. i got some comps from my boss to see sweeney todd again! i was excited cause #1- i had anthony's understudy the first time i saw it, #2- i got to bring my parents.
as dorky as it sounds, there is something special about bringing your parents to a place you have worked and spent time, a place that you are proud to be a part of... that's how it was last night... our seats were AMAZING... and the show was INCREDIBLE...even better than the first time i saw it. and i couldn't help thinking throughout the show "wow. these guys get to do this everyday." and it was especially cool because i see them all the time backstage, in the office, or when i eat lunch in the green room with them. i think because i get a glimpse of their real life as actors doubled with their amazing performances onstage, this is a really cool and different experience for me. it was also cool because last week i saw my old musical director from peter pan there, he was in the audience and plays piano for the auditions at the arden. then last night i saw my musical director from SECRET GARDEN! he is such a nice guy. and i saw him about 2 years ago at another philadelphia production where he was super nice to me too... he does a lot in the philly theatre scene, so i'm glad i keep seeing him and all. i just love bumping into these people @ shows, it makes me feel like i am networking! hahahaha anyway - great night.
i have to admit, with all of those great feelings comes some uncertainty... and of course the feeling of "i hope i am not a big giant idiot for even thinking i could make it doing what i love" but last night was one of those nights when it seems like it's worth the risk.
and with that i am going to close this and say that i am SOOOOOO EXCITED TO GO TO NYC TOMORROW FOR THE WEEKEND! can't wait to see my wag crew and celebrate the 21st birth of our amsters. i have been waiting for this!
