learn a lesson
i originally wasnt planning to writing one last lj, but i feel like i have to say certain things and state the obvious, not because of some infamous lj i heard about that i havent read due to the fact that i was on vacation, but just because life isnt as horrible as it may really seem.
the wonderful thing about having an lj is that you can write whatever you want - it's freedom of speech. the worst thing about having an lj is that you can write whatever you want - it's freedom of speech. and everyone is allowed to complain about their lives once in a while, life isnt perfect. so for the people out there who really do have a strong dislike towards lj's or for the people out there who have a strong dislike towards a lot of random people back in high school who apparently, have made their high school career a living hell...just remember this...
1. our country is at war with iraq
2. more than 150,000 people died last week, millions of people are homeless, and thousands are still missing...
being in the philippines made me think this through - not because i was in a '3rd' world country and the economy is poor (even though in my opinion, we can learn a lot of things from them too). i was in the philippines for the past two weeks, and it just so happens that the tsunami didnt hit the philippine islands because the waves went the other way - west. if they had gone east, i sure as hell wouldnt be here in my chair writing this lj right now. i'd be dead or missing. actually i'd be the dead, the philippine islands are small and narrow. so i'd be dead.
but who cares about me, i'm alive.
so moral of this last sorta sermon is that there are more important things, or should i say people, to worry about then some of our petty annoyances or petty problems that we for some reason have a hard time getting over.
and in regards to some list that i hear about on some lj - there's a good chance that some of the people on that list have health problems. like cancer. there's a very good chance that someone on that list had relatives or friends who vacationed around the coast of the indian ocean for the holiday or for a honeymoon. there's also a good chance that maybe someone from that list was there.
