So I'm wondering about languages. I still want to learn Japanese I guess. I mean, I need to know it for various reasons. But I'm getting antsy and quite missing other languages, like Chinese! Mandarin... blah. And Korean. And WELSH!!! ♥
I just wonder how many languages I can learn. I don't need to be a super scholar in Mandarin (or whatever other kind of Chinese I decide on) but I would like to know it fairly well.
I would also love to know Korean. Love love love....
With Welsh, I'm not stressing, because it's not like I need to know uber fluency and right away or anything. I would love to learn it for fun. I could pay more attention to the written kind, too. And then I could maybe read old classic texts? Unless they're in a different kind of Welsh... and if they are, I'll just learn that kind as well. I would still learn the vocal part of course. But yeah.... I'm in no big rush with Welsh. But it's definitely a language I can't stay away from. ♥
So, with learning like 4 languages... the only thing is is that you'd need to keep yourself in all of them. As in, I would have to try and use atleast a bit of Japanese everyday, even if I was learning Mandarin or Korean or whatever.
However many languages I want to know, I would most likely have to stay involved with all of them, forever. XD
So that's all I have to keep in mind.
However, I don't practice Chinese everyday but I still do remember some phrases and words and things. But I guess if I want it to a semi-fluent level, I would have to keep using it. But that's ok, since I love them all. It's just... I shouldn't try to juggle too many.
If I want to partly learn other languages, that's fine and cool. But I wouldn't be trying to use it all everyday. Like French, or Hungarian or whatever else. I could learn what I need to know when I need/want to, and that's it.
Anyway... I still can't help wondering what it'd be like if I'd started learning French instead of Japanese. I think that I could have done academic speeches and written three novels in French in the time it has taken me to make half-sentences in Japanese that are still far off of being understandable. :(
Oh well ~ never give up hope!!
And.... change my learning routine to something that works!!! lol ^_^
Or just find a teacher/class. That would be an idea. :D
