It showed 00.10 on his phone. Inoo was still awake. Today was his birthday after all. How could he sleep when he was waiting a first birthday greeting message from a man he loved the most in this universe.
Buzzzzzzzz.
His phone vibrated, signaled that he got a new message. His heart beat rapidly. He closed his eyes and breathed deeply. God knew how he wished it was from that certain person. Slowly and carefully he took a peek at the sender showed on his phone screen.
Yamada Ryosuke.
His left hand fell beside his slender waist while the right one held his expensive phone. He stared blankly at the screen and a moment later he could feel something tickling was running down his cheek. Inoo assumed it was tears.
That bastard didn’t make it. He didn’t send me the first greeting. How I wish I can kill that man right now, were the things Inoo had inside his mind. He could feel another buzz came. Quickly he looked at the phone screen.
Nakajima Yuto.
S*it. It wasn’t him either. He was on that state more than twice. A buzz came, quickly glanced at the sender name, sighed, it was still not from him. For the nth time, his phone vibrated. This time, he hadn’t the gut to expect too much. Lazily he looked at his phone screen. He was right, it was from Arioka Daiki. A moment later, he could feel another buzz. That morning his phone continuously vibrated, tens messages had came, but not one from that guy. Still feeling the liquid flowing on his cheek, Inoo drifted to sleep. One thing he wished that time was his eyes wouldn’t as big as baseball ball when he woke up later.
Inoo woke up because of his alarm clock cried loudly non-stop. He immediately turned it off and moved to grab his phone. Desperately he searched a certain name in his full of unread messages inbox, but it turned out he couldn’t find it. He was almost threw his phone to the wall only if he didn’t remember how expensive it cost. It wasn’t the money he was talking about, but the value behind that phone. It was a gift from a man he loved with all his heart.
Miserably, Inoo walked to the bathroom. He looked at his face through a mirror, and at that moment he knew his wish didn’t come true.
“S*it. How can I come to school with this kind of face,” he cursed.
He tried everything he could to make it looked better by washing his face many times, using eyewash, immersing his eyes into lukewarm water, but no use at all. In the end he chose to wear sunglass as the best solution for his state now.
When he walked at the usual alley, suddenly he was pulled by a strong hand. He tried his best to escaped but calmed down immediately when he knew the owner of that hand.
“Yabu Kota, what are you doing?” but the later didn’t utter a word and kept leading Inoo to somewhere instead. He just sighed. He knew he couldn’t win over this guy, so he just went silent and follow him obediently.
Almost an hour they walked without any destination, at least it was what Inoo thought, and he felt his feet protested.
“Yabu Kota, I have a class within an hour. What do you want actually?” Inoo said with mixed emotions in it. Angry, dejected, curious.
Yabu abruptly stopped, making Inoo almost bumped on him. He then turned to face Inoo, eyes on eyes. Inoo’s heart beat faster than usual. It was his perfect love standing in front on him after all, held his hand tightly. But in a sudden his grip was loosen. He saw sadness he never knew in those eyes. He found no love anymore. He should have seen something went wrong lately, but he made his eyes blind. He didn’t want anything bad happened between their relationship. He didn’t even have the gut to imagine that.
Yabu never called him in the middle night anymore. Yabu never offered to pick him up from and back to home. Yabu never sent him random text message anymore. Yabu never smiled when he told him his college life as usual. Yabu never did all of that. But Inoo believe that Yabu just in state of boredom, probably his relationship with Inoo, and he would come back to cheerful and lovely Yabu he knew.
Actually Inoo was in fear. A fear he never wanted to face. A fear of going away from Yabu Kota’s life.
“Kei,” Yabu made a long sigh, “let’s over this relationship.”
Inoo couldn’t be at this shock in his life. He didn’t know how to react. He didn’t even know why suddenly he felt numb. He didn’t feel sad nor want to cry. He just couldn’t feel any emotion. Maybe, just maybe, his feeling was swept away by his tears that morning. After a long time, “It’s over?” was his respond.
“Yeah,” Yabu simply replied.
The older guy whispered “Happy Birthday” and “I wish you a lot of happiness” before he left Inoo alone. He walked away and never turned to see Inoo once.
Silently Inoo smiled at the birthday greeting he just received. He never ever felt this pathetic in his life.

“THIS IS SO SAAAAAD. Yuto, hands me tissues,” Yamada said to Yuto who just passing him by.
“Here….. eck, your eyes are all colored as your favorite fruit, Yama chan. Seriously, what the hell are you reading?” the pillar boy asked curiously. Yamada had been strange lately. He often found him gluing his eyes to his laptop, and a moment later the older boy would laugh or cry or just blankly stare at the screen. And now he was in the peak of his curiousness.
“Don’t *hiccups* tell *hiccups* anyone. This is *hiccups* a secret,” Yamada barely said between his sobs.
“Actually I copied some fiction stories from Inoochan’s laptop. I didn’t know that he is a good writer. Maybe if he quits JUMP, he’ll be a famous writer,” he reasoned after he overwhelmed his hiccup.
“NO. I don’t want Inoochan to quit JUMP,” Yuto said.
“I said ‘maybe’ Yuto,” he pouted.
“Oh, you naughty boy.” was what Yamada got from Yuto.
“But you love this naughty boy,” Yamada grinned.
