Random Kudos to an Author.

I always get quite thoughtful when reading Charles De Lint and last night was no exception. Everytime I read him it stirs my creative imagination to work on "something" but I never know what will come out of it in the end. Last night I did a very surreal peice and suprised myself. The one thing I had a problem with when I was younger (shading) has long since left me and now I can't finish a drawing without some form of shading in it at all. Anyone who is a "dreamer" out there should really pick up one of his short story books for a read. Dreams Underfoot and Moonlight and Vines are two really good ones. He dosen't do full length novels all that much but his setting is generally Newford. A wonderously captured imaginary city with the most unique and realistic characters in the world. Jilly reminds me a lot of Traci. Geordie reminds me a lot of Doug. I see a lot of my friends in each of these stories so if you know me...heck even if you don't pick one up just for the sake of it...Doug especially I'll be mad if he dosen't at least read one and fall in love like I did. The cover art on his books by the way is done all by the same artist and I could stare at it for hours...I tried to find full peices of his online but it seems not much is floating around of his. If someone finds any sites lemmie know I'm looking.
