I was on eBay looking at costumes and I saw a listing for a "rabid vampire" mask. This is a concept I have never before considered, and it begs so many questions. First of all, can a vampire *carry* rabies? My guess would be no. I would think a virus would require a live host. How would you know if a vampire had rabies? Are they really worse than a regular vampire? I mean, if they bite you, aren't they just going to drink your blood and kill you anyway? Unless they make you into a vampire, in which case the rabies would be irrelevant. If they bit you and didn't kill you then you would contract rabies and that would be awful but I don't see why they would even bother to bite you if they're not going to drink your blood. So, all things considered, if dying of rabies is worse than having your blood drained out then really a rabid vampire is better than a rabid dog.
Not that I'd particularly want to bitten by either.
