a spontaneous day off

Not that I work that hard most of the time, but I had quite a working weekend which makes it much easier to justify a lazy day (particularly combined with having no juice for my laptop and a splitting headach).

Friday I'd had back to back appointments, last-minute shopping for the weekend retreat, then an evening shift at Osento. After that, I had two more errands to run, which could be run at 1 and 2AM.

Saturday started far too early. Ready and gone, out of the city having pickedup coffee and a co-pilot. We had a nice, bonding talk, but managed to miss our turn and make it to Hopland, Mendocino before turning around to reach our real destination, Geyserville, Sonoma. Yup, wrong county. Late to the Isis Oasis Retreat Center for a strategic planning board retreat. All day affair. Tried to nap several times before finally drifting off in Queen Nefertiti room, (We'd been strategizing in the Cleopatra Room).

Sunday, lazy start, but then cleaning up and hitting the road for (guess what?) another meeting. This one was particularly funny since three people showed up out of the expected 6-8, and one of the missing was the guy who called the meeting! However, I got to eat pancakes in the afternoon and chat with Miss Smith, who is the coolest.

Then I talked to Juliana Red for a bit. Not intimidating, actually rather nice.

So, that's a busy weekend for me--oh, and I did watch the Oscars. So I guess I'll really start my week tomorrow, now that my laptop is once again fully charged!
