You know who needs this shirt? Casey Mulder needs this shirt. But how does she get it?
Well. I mean. Her dad buys it for her, obviously. He knows she won't have need of it for, you know, a while, but it doesn't hurt to have it on hand. And he buys a small; she should be able to fit into that by like twelve, right? Scully rolls her eyes, but lets him hide it in the box in the attic along with the evidence from Casey's trip.
How does Mulder discover
Dinosaur Comics?
Um. Someone else reads them--oh! Isabel! Isabel reads Dinosaur Comics, and she occasionally posts them on Facebook. (Everybody's on Facebook. You should see the smack talk that circulates around Bejeweled. It's brutal.) And he got sucked in one night, the way you do with web comics, and read the whole archive. And found the shirt in an ad at the bottom. He likes the strategic use of formalism to produce dissonant results, and as well as the use of negative space to create meaning in the form of invisible divine presences.
Scully reads xkcd, like a normal person.
Mulder bought her
this shirt. She wears it to bed.

1) Why don't we live in the
Thursday Next universe? (Incidentally, let's all take a minute to laugh at Jasper Fforde for being anti-fanfiction. LOL, dude, what do you think you write?)
2) Why do I have to do my job? I hate my job. I hate everything. I need more coffee.
