Leigh: It just rolls off the tongue. Um. I mean.
FFFFF SCORE.
let me share a similiar anecdote made awfully clumsy with translation:
my friend was talking with some other girls, med students, and the following exchange took place:
girl a: the, uh... the...
girl b: penis?
girl a: YES! you took it right out of my mouth! [<- idiom meaning "this was exactly what i wanted to say but i couldn't find the words and/or you beat me to it"]
yeah.

and now on the semantics in question!
i am not a native speaker so although i voted i don't think i can really form an opinion. i have been seeing both pussy and cunt but as they are both insults, to whatever gender, i'm not super ok with them. i think i prefer fics using euphemist structures like 'between her legs' or 'inside her' although if done badly they can be wtf- or lulz-provoking like every euphemism or metaphor.
i can produce, however, a few words on the nomenclature in my language!
in short: IT'S SO AWFUL
linguists/activists/journalists/normal people have been talking about it a lot recently, about how to call the GOOD TIMES body parts, especially in women. because for now we have three types of names:
1. direct equivalents of the english (or rather latin) "vagina" or "vulva", which sound really clinical and make women laugh or squirm, and are super unsexy.
2. lulzy euphemisms: (they look weird in translatio but the language likes diminutives and they look ok in the original) little shell, little peach, little pearl, or little mouse. AHAHA OMG ENGLISH MAKES IT AWFUL.
3. two words that are used also as insults, but when - again - added the diminutive suffix, they seemingly lose their insulting power, and some women like them and consider them sexy.
of course reactions vary and many girls are okay with peach or mouse or the equivalent of cunt. but others, like me, are still dissatisfied... i remember having the semantic problem with my last bf, we just couldn't come up with a word i'd like. i still haven't found one, i guess.
oh the humanity, so prudish. for god's sakes.
