This is interesting. and tricky. Personally, i think Cunt is one of those words that has become overwhelmed by its own cultural/societal connotations. That is, if someone calls me a cunt, i'm not offended by the word, so much as by the fact that this person is being misogynistic. they are infering that there is something offensive about a vagina. perhaps they aren't even meaning to be misogynistic - only meaning to insult me. that makes the offense worse. then it becomes a matter of me stewing for the rest of the day on how disgustingly patriarchal and misogynistic we are culturally - to the point we don't even realize it.

on the other hand, maybe that's part of why cunt seems like such a sexy word when it's used in a way that infers pleasure and appreciation. in a society (okay, pretty much the whole world, actually) that still generally speaking is unconsciously or consciously holding a grudge against vaginas, and therefore a grudge against all those who possess vaginas - reading about a man who praises the cunt - recognizes it for what it is and doesn't pull any chauvinistic BS - well, that's almost a fantasy in and of itself.

i'm not sure how much this argument applies to F/F sex, only because i'm not sure how pervasive the negative attitude towards vaginas is. do women think lowly of each other's 'cunts', of their own 'cunts'? or are they inherently less misogynistic in that way because of their gender?
