It took a long time for Ueda to realize what had happened, Jin had been killing the werewolves that had followed them and Ueda had tried to stop him in the end; but because of the full moon Jin had been out of control and couldn’t stop when Ueda approached him, he hurt him and ran away.
Ueda couldn’t smell Jin so he didn’t know where he was, he knew Jin was probably freaked and he had to find him; but first he needed to feed before, the wound had taken longer than normal to heal and because he wasn’t a full blood vampire he needed blood more often than others.
He walked down a small road, he could hear running water near and knew that fresh water would attract animals; he hided behind some bushes and waited silently; not long after he could smell the scent of a deer, he crouched down lower so he wouldn’t be seen.
He looked through the bushes and saw the tall deer stand in front of him, it’s hears was in the direction of the water and it sniffed in the air; Ueda held his breath and waited as the deer came closer to where he was hiding, he deer suddenly looked up and was about to run away when Ueda jumped up from his hiding place.
He grabbed it by its horns and threw it to the ground, the deer jerked and kicked as it tried to get up on its hooves again; Ueda grabbed it by its neck and buried his teeth into the throbbing vein, the deer jerked and kicked with its last strength.
Ueda felt the blood warm his body, like his own blood was boiling; he could taste a little of the metal taste, it didn’t taste like Jin’s though.
The deer finally laid still and with its last breath, Ueda sucked out the last of its blood; crows flew up from their hiding place in the trees and croaked, almost like screaming, as they flew into the sky.
Ueda stood up and dropped the deer’s head on the ground, he looked around and felt all his senses return; he turned with his back against the wind and tried to see if he could find traces of Jin; he could smell a little of something that could be related to Jin’s smell, but he wasn’t sure.
He took off like a speeding bullet through the trees and looked for Jin, the moon had almost disappeared and the sun was about to set; the beautiful colors lighted up the sky and made everything seem to be on fire.
The scent lead Ueda up through a narrow road through the trees, he could slightly hear a waterfall close by; he charged in that direction and quickly came up to a clearing, a huge waterfall was in front of him.
Underneath the roaring water were a small lake and around it was big rocks and trees, on one of the rocks sat Jin; he had transformed back into himself and had his legs pulled up to his chest, his head were resting on his knees.
Ueda slowly moved closer but he already knew that Jin was aware of his presence; he sat down beside Jin and looked up at the waterfall, no one said anything for a long time.
“I’m sorry…” whispered Jin without looking up at Ueda, Ueda looked at him and said; “it was an accident.”
“I broke my promise…I hurt you…”
“That happens, I’m not mad…besides, it didn’t hurt.”
“Liar.”
“Okay, it did hurt a little…but not as much as the shock.”
Jin looked up with watery eyes, “I’m so sorry…I-I thought that I was strong enough.”
“You are strong; you killed 10 werewolves by yourself without any help!”
“But I still ended up hurting you…”
“Please forget it, Jin…it’s in the past…”
“I’m not sure if I’ll be able to stay with you…”
“W-What?!?”
Ueda looked shocked at Jin; Jin looked down and avoided Ueda’s eyes.
“I promised not to hurt you, and yet I did…it’s my entire fault that we ended up in this situation, if I hadn’t staid away from you we wouldn’t be out here…”
Ueda grabbed Jin’s face and held it between his hands, he looked strait into his eyes and said, “don’t say that...we belong to each other, I don’t care about everyone else! The whole world could die without I would care, just as long as you are with me; you make me feel like no one else has ever done, you make me feel like I’m alive! I thought I lost all my feelings when I was turned, but you made me realize what it really meant to be loved and you made me realize that I could still feel! Please…don’t say such a thing; I won’t be able to bear if you left me…”
Jin moved Ueda’s hands from his face and looked away, “I’ve realized that I’m not good enough for you, Ueda…you’ve been hurt so many times because of me, I’m not worthy of your love…I’m sorry…”
Ueda begged, he tried to look for any hope in Jin’s eyes; but he found nothing, “please…please don’t leave me…please!”
“We are better off on our own, and then there is a better chance that one of us will survive.”
Jin stood up and jumped down the rock, Ueda looked down at him with tearful eyes; he felt his heart being broken into a million pieces, Jin looked up at him one last time.
“I’m sorry that we ever met, I wish we hadn’t known each other, forget me, forget everything that ever happened between us and start over with a new life.”
“Jin! NO!”
But it was too late, Jin had turned around and had disappeared into the forest again; Ueda’s scream were almost audibly because of the waterfall, he had sunk together on the rock.
He had pulled his knees up to his chest and laid now on the side, tears streamed down his pale face and wouldn’t stop; he felt his heart die out by the last words he heard from Jin: forget me, forget everything that ever happened between us…

Ueda didn’t feel anything, his body had gotten cold and numb, he didn’t even move when a bird came and sat on top of his head; he felt completely lost inside, Jin, his only love, had left him and would never come back.
Jin…Why did you leave? I forgave you didn’t I? Wasn’t it enough for you? Don’t you understand how much you mean to me? Jin… I love you!

Suddenly a voice said, “well, well, look who we have here.”
Ueda sat slowly up and he gasped in shock, in front of him stood Kame, Maru, Junno, Koki and at least 50 vampires.
“You can’t run this time, Ueda;” laughed Kame and stepped closer to Ueda, Ueda didn’t move and only watched Kame getting closer to him.
Jin had left his life and now he didn’t care about anything else, he didn’t care about what would happen to him now; Jin broke his heart and left him shattered and alone, he was better of dead.
Kame laughed and threw a punch right to Ueda’s head, Ueda never felt the hit; he suddenly realized that he was laying on the rock again, probably because of Kame’s hit, the last thing he saw was Kame towering over him with a dark grin on his face…then everything became dark.
