Birthday!
So, today is my birthday! It started out kind of sucky, to tell the truth. I came down with a cold several days ago, so it's pretty much at its peak right now. My nose was all stuffed up and I felt really delirious, and therefore I decided that I didn't want to go out to dinner (not that I had made any plans anyway). So anyhow, I was just sitting at my computer doing Arabic and feeling rather bummed, when in walked 8 of my friends with pizza and balloons! It was a SURPRISE PARTY. Never in my life have I ever gotten a surprise party!!! It made me so incredibly happy! We just sat around and talked for an hour or so about tons of things, most notably all the strange Egyptian customs that we've encountered here. I hope I said thank you enough and stuff like that--I was still a bit congested and all out of it because of the medicine I've been taking. But YEAH. I can't believe this all actually happened--I mean, I was kind of hoping my friends would do something for me, but I really wasn't expecting anything. I love you Molly, Jill, Monica, Jessica, Samantha, Danielle, Amy, and Brit!
Anyhow...I got an e-mail from my mom telling me that she wasn't sending me any presents, so I should just buy myself stuff with her credit card. Well, if you insist...mwahahaha!!! I'll certainly be having fun with that over the next week or so. In other unrelated news, I'm probably going to join the AUC girls' basketball team! They all seem really nice--some of them are better than I am, but some of them aren't. It should be a lot of fun, and Amy's doing it too. Yay!
I know I have more stuff to write about, but I'm sick and tired and I need to go to sleep...but not before I take more of the crazy Egyptian drugs that I bought--using my kick-ass Colloquial skills--at one of the pharmacies here. It's so weird to think that I am now in my 20s! What the hell is up with that??? Where did my childhood go? Aaaaaaah. Okay, I'm done now. Thanks to everyone who has sent me birthday messages! I miss you! Come visit me! And I'll visit you! Lots of exclamation points! Whee!
