Oh ho ho, I have found the final piece of the Holy Grail,
I finally. FINALLY. Got a chance to listen to Clearveil's new mini-album, The Future of Despair.
Unfortunately, it is only Version A, so I haven't been able to listen to Secret Letter (?) as of yet.
However, I will be happy to bore my audience with my findings of the other five songs.
FIRST SONG :: Gerbera
First of all, I love the whole siren thing.
It reminds me of Cali=/=Gari's song, Siren....XD
I really love Saki's voice in this song.
His voice just kind of has this sad, droning thing to it, and it sets you up for this really slow song, and then he starts spazzing all Kyo-like all over you, and then it goes back like JK.
I must also declare that the guitar parts are fantastic.
(I know you're in there somewhere, Nozomi!!!
IMMA FIND YOU!)
SECOND SONG :: DOβUT
This song really has a hard rock feel.
(Like all of their other songs...>>)
And, for some reason, when ever he does the chorus, I swear Saki is saying 'Lean over the side."
I haven't seen the lyrics yet, but I really hope he's not saying that, otherwise my life will be full of LOLs for the rest of the month.
Once again, there's a sweet little guitar solo a little after the middle.
(ISSAT YOU, NOZOMI?!)
I like the sound of this song, the music is just as good as the vocals.
That's always a plus. <3
THIRD SONG :: …故に孤独
I feel like I'm repeating myself for each of these songs...
I don't know much about music, and what I am hearing is hard to convey in words, but I swears these be different!
This song is a lot slower, vocal-wise.
There isn't a lot of screaming and the guitar parts aren't as extreme...I lied.
I seem to have stumbled upon another solo...
(Nozomi?)
Nonetheless, it's definitely a nice song.
I approve.
The chorus is really nice as well.
Each time I hear it, I'm like, "Awwwwww, is soooo sweet <3"
Clearveil is a relatively new band, only a year or two old, but I definitely see Saki growing and improving in a couple years to be a spectacular singer.
Look out for Clearveil, people!
They are the next Diru!
THIRD SONG :: fade [die] away?
fade [die] away? has a much darker feel than the other songs.
(It might compete with DOβUT, but my memory isn't good enough to remember what it sounds like without having to go back...Mengo)
There's one part (maybe two) in this song, where it breaks into a really nice part of Saki singing all nice and gentle, but then it goes back to loudness, followed by yet another guitar solo.
(Am I seeing a pattern?)
In some ways, I see a young Satsuki in Saki (Yes, my friends; take one mora out of Satsuki's name and what do you get? SAKI.)
He has a tendency to change emotions in the middle of songs, only to come back to the former; in a lot of RES songs, you hear the same thing.
I like to think it's their way of portraying human emotions, since we all know how crazy humanity can be.
LAST SONG :: The Future of Despair
Believe it or not, this song is actually one of the lesser hardcore songs of the bunch.
There are some screamo parts, but the majority is sung in a very sweet, lovely voice.
This is definitely my favorite of the bunch and I can see why this song titled the album.
It's sooo good.
Also, I am nearing the end (:51) and I have heard a guitar solo yet.
Can it be true, or am I just going crazy?
I hope everyone enjoyed my squandering.
To be perfectly honest, I just did this to procrastinate on readings due tomorrow.
Thank you for helping me in my quest.
IF I FAIL, IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!!! D<
