Language:
1. Do at least 100 kanji flashcards/day in
Anki. Since my effort last year means I already know the majority of them pretty well, I will be aiming to add Chinese specific characters in there too. Modified to averaging 100 a day for the year, and getting my total reviews above 100,000 by the end of the year, this requires an average of 160-170 cards a day from now on...(did 300 today!)
2. Pass JLPT 2-kyuu, and if I manage that, attempt 1-kyuu before the end of the year. Taken 2kyuu, waiting for results
3. As part of the above goal, create example sentence flash cards for every grammar pattern in the 中上級日本語文法ハンドブック and as many as I can for new vocab I encounter. Modified to a different, 2kyuu specific book last post. Modified goal DONE.
4. Maintain my current level of Chinese ability by keeping up with flashcards, as well as slightly increase by adding at least 100 sentences by the end of the year. Have definitely lost some Chinese ability while studying for JLPT. Still studying every now and then and adding sentences.
Physical
1. Become able to do both forward and side splits. Still stretching almost every day, still little progress :|
2. Complete either
200 Sit Ups or one of the other training programs by the same author. Still not started due to physically hard job. May start soon since I seem to have adjusted to it though.
3. Do more yoga. Still stretching every day, should do more though.
Working Holiday
1. Complete internship in Okinawa. DONE.
2. Participate in the
WWOOF program DONE.
3. I am planning to undertake volunteer activities in the tsunami affected area, probably in March-April. I plan to stay for a minimum of 2 weeks. DONE.
4. I can't exactly make a resolution to be hired, since it partially depends on factors outside my control, but I hope to find enough employment to stay in Japan, and by the end of the year I want to be applying for translation jobs or jobs that will help me transition into translation work. I will be completely out of work once I finish my current placement in just over a month because of the recruiting company jerking me around, which is somewhat scary, but I have a current list of jobs to apply for and some entry-level translation/proofreading jobs are on there. We'll see what happens!
