Thanks for everything
Dori's going to stop daily use of his blog for the duration of his study abroad, which he's estimated to last for a little under a year. As a result, amai_akegata translations will now end.
I've been thinking about the possibility of this happening ever since Dori announced his study abroad plans and have gone back and forth among many plans. A main concern was Takkun's blog translations, but I'm aware another group or two is also translating his blog, so I've gratefully been able to think without worrying about his blog.
I'm just not sure what Dori's contact with his blog will be during his study abroad, so I don't want to commit to anything I'm not sure of. My plan for now is to stop translations on this blog, and I'm able to do so from Dori saying he'll stop updating the blog. From that, I can only guess that any contact or updates will be outside of his blog. If I'm proven wrong, though, and he just has a few posts here and there, then perhaps, yes, I might be interested in translating those when they come up. Or maybe not. Iiiiiiidunnnooooguuuyysss And let's say that when he comes back from England, he'll start daily updates again. I'm entirely not sure if I'll be interested in picking up translations again, especially considering it'll most likely correlate with my freshman year in college. Or maybe that'll be even more reason to work on it, iunnooo.
I'm extremely grateful to everyone who has ever dropped by, commented, joined the community, any of the above; just thanks guys, really. I've gotten so much from this project than I ever thought I would, and part of me really is sad to end it here. I hope I was able to help even one of you feel a bit closer to any of the Amuse boys, whether it be Dori, Takkun, Shogo, Kimito, or the cast B&W or the Handsomes. Improving my Japanese was great, but that really was my goal and motivation throughout these past four years. It's also why I'm a bit regretful of not picking up another blog or something of the sort, but I'm pretty proud of what I've done so far. Maybe it's because I started this project freshman year of high school and I only have a couple of months left until I graduate and enter college with an East Asian Studies major in mind, but I really do feel like I've come full circle. I've picked up a few other translation projects since then, but everything stems from here.
I have a lot of things I want to say to Dori, but that'll be for when I muster up the courage to comment on his blog (as he did say he'd be checking comments every now and then). With that note, I'd like to be able to do one last thing for all of you as a thanks for being so wonderfully encouraging and kind, so if you have something you'd like to say to Dori, I'd be more than happy to translate it into Japanese for you. Of course, he is studying abroad, so maybe you'd prefer to comment partially or completely in English, and maybe you'd feel it'd be more genuine that way--the choice is completely up to you, but I'll be here if you need me. I still get e-mail notifications for comments, so go ahead and comment whenever you feel like it.
