Weapon of Choice?

Over the past few years, I've been jumping from program to program, looking for a good place to keep my writing and articles saved from the internet. I used to do everything in notepad, but of course, there's no spell check in that. I migrated to Evernote, then to keeping separate files in Word, and now I've wandered over to Springpad.

I would say that Word, and to a lesser extent OneNote, have the best formatting tools because they come from a word processor origin, but Springpad and Evernote, perhaps because they are born out of the internet age, have much stronger tagging. I think I could come to a compromise with OneNote if it had a better tagging system that wasn't focused on creating task lists. However, the search seems good, so maybe I could find a workaround...?

What do you use to write? Or for those of you who aren't writers, how do you keep the things you might want to read offline?
