So, spring break is over and of course I'm feeling remorse that I didn't do more school work. I really have nothing due this week so it was hard to be motivated. Of course I didn't fully account for the fact that I have a LOT due next week and we are helping to take care of Kaleb and Bella over the weekend, so I won't necessarily get a lot done then.
At least I am being eased back into the school week, since my first class was cancelled today. (The prof was in the NY/MA area and her flight back on friday was delayed until today - she was kind enough to email about it over the weekend instead of having us all show up for no reason.) So I am currently just getting my day organized but I will do some homework before leaving for work at 2.
I did manage to go out and do a few fun things over the break. Thursday night I went out with Ramu and a group of his friends to
Chino Latino for his birthday. It was great because I had been craving one of their mojitos for a long time. (Plus I had forgotten about their happy hour... $2 house wine and they actually have a pinot grigio, not just a chardonnay.) The rather odd thing was that I was the youngest person in a group of 10 or so, but the only one in a romantic relationship. I stayed out way later than I had intended, but luckily the bus/LRT schedules all lined up and it didn't take any longer to get home than usual.
Saturday night we went out to
Pi for Kirsten's birthday. (I thought it was sort of strange that a gay man wanted to spend his birthday at a dyke bar, but whatever... worked for me!) We had been meaning to check that place out since it opened last month and I'm glad we finally got there. It was fun and relaxed and they have a pretty huge space!
Yesterday I went to see
Zodiac with Brandon and Jennifer. It was... ok? Not as scary or suspenseful as I'd hoped, a little too long, but not horrible. Lots of good cast members. Leah worked on report cards at Starbucks while we were at the movie, but then we all went out to dinner at Old Chicago (haven't been there since my supposed going-away, thanks for helping me move and clean stuff, dinner :P ) Then we came home and played
Diner Dash, because we are addicted and it is ridiculous.
OK, I suppose I should shower and take the dog out. And do homework....
