Dear diary

Feb 23, 2011 15:50

I'm being a bad person at campus and having a break.

I've been up since 7 am (unusual for me - my stupid sleeping habits) and studying a textbook for upcoming exam. There's still about hundred pages to go. But I'm actually quite satisfied with the progress I've done today. If only I could get up like this every morning - I'd get so much more done. Why does sleeping have to be so great, especially at mornings? I'd like to be more of a morning person if I only could.

The day has been pretty ordinary. I've studied, first at my place and then at the campus library. I had a lunch at the school cafeteria. I actually experienced a little caffeine rush at morning - I giggled madly at the stupidest things.

Of course I can't spend my break just relaxing. I immediately opened a blank page at Word and short a short thingy for one of my projects (the one involving Bearclaw and Amadris). I'm having some difficulties about how I'm going to carry on with the story. I'd rather like to write these letter like sequences, where the two think about each other and their life. They'd take place during a period when the couple is separated. Then again, I don't know what I should emphasize with this story - Amaclaw's (lol) relationship or the more actionish side of it. It really requires a lot of work still. The romance novels seem to overall be kind of disliked nowadays, at least by people who read and write more "serious" things. I understand where this poor reputation of romance comes from - a lot of them are so bad that one just has to wonder how anyone has actually wanted to publish them - but as I write my projects, I always end up working mostly on the romantic story (with the exception of Tristan's story - it's main focus is intended to be on his family).

Le sigh. Maybe I just need to practice more.

I guess I have to leave now - there's a class starting soon, and I need to get to the classroom yet. See ya later.
