So, I finished Ian Kelly's Casanova. I hate the fact that I can't read more literature nowadays, since I've got so much to read for studies. But usually I try to keep at least one fictive book by my bedside (or maybe a historical book) and read a bit before I go to sleep. I was incredibly happy to find 5 books for 25 euros from a local bookstore that is closing down.
Currently I'm reading J. R. R. Tolkien's Tales from the Perilous Realm. I'm still reading the first story, Roverandom, but by far it looks really great. Even if these are fairytales, they are something even a more mature reader can enjoy. I love the way Tolkien writes and describes, and at least the first story is beautiful and entertaining. There is this funny and amusing tone to the story which appeals even to me although I'm not a child. Alan Lee's illustrations are absolutely beautiful, and I just love the cover of the book. I very much enjoyed the reference to Lord Of The Rings and Middle-earth, when Roverandom, the seadog and the whale swim near the waters of Uttermost West. The characters are endearing, even the antagonistic ones.
I wish Tolkien had published more stories about Middle-earth, a wish I'm sure many other Tolkien-fans share with me.
