Why does such a small thing as a burn on your finger have to hurt so damn much? I have to keep a damn icebag beside me so that I can ease the pain. Right now, I'm writing with my left hand and it sucks because it takes so long to write down a single sentence! I was cooking and my finger accidentally hit the hot cooking plate. My neighbours must have heard me cursing and wonder what the hell is wrong with me.
I actually slept the whole last night! It felt so good at morning to wake up after well-slept night (and I had this fabulous dream of being in Lapland), plus I actually got up earlier than usual, which allowed me to do some studying before getting to campus. I met with the guys from my stugroup and we discussed the articles the course mentor had given us. It surely helped - I had had problems in understanding the articles, and discussing them with the guys opened them up for me. The class was okay, I guess. We discussed the articles and the mentor gave the new articles for the next meeting. I wonder how I'll have the time to go through them since I have that bitch of a paper to do. I suppose I have to miss the student party at Wednesday. I'm becoming such a hermit and it scares me. At least I'll still get to see some friends at Thursday (we're gonna do some Russian food and watch a movie).
It's snowing again outside. I really should take my camera with me some day and photograph some of the snowy scenes out there. I really like winter and snow, and it annoys me when people complain about it. Welcome to Finland, people! Can't stand winter? Then move to some warmer country. It's really ridiculous how the media has written about snow and winter this year, as if it's some kind of surprise that we get snow here in north. I really prefer it this way rather than how we have gotten little to no snow at all some years ago. The snow creates an illusion of light, and it's really much prettier this way than if there were no snow at all and it was just grey and black all over. I really like walking in snow - it's so beautiful and calming, especially when there is not wind. And big ol' snowstorm is always a good excuse to just lounge with a good book and a cup of hot cocoa or tea.
I guess I should get back to work. I still have +100 pages of that other book for the paper (I actually finished the other one last night, yay!), but luckily it looks like I don't have to read all of it. I hope my finger gets better soon, though - it's irritating to try and study when you have to have one of your hands buried in an icebag.
