Reality:
Well, after 2-3 weeks of radiosilence, I've managed to get my E-mail working again... and by that I mean I checked it right before I was going to head out to the CITES building, and a rather large backlog of E-mails had finally been received. Now, if only I could figure out what new organization has started sending me spam.... I suspect Livejournal, somehow.
Other than that, classes go much better this semester than last. CLCIV 116 is not quite as interesting as it used to be; while the course material is getting better, it seems that the sorority I was sitting behind has relocated, or something. Oh well, looks like I'll have to actually look around for hot women in the class rather than having them fall out of the sky in front of me...
Laundry's actually getting done today, and I'm updating this thing; wow, I'm impressively productive today. I've even got plans to finsh up my homework soon as I'm done with this.
Surreality:
First and foremost, it turns out I like the "Great Teacher Onizuka" series (henceforth to be referred to as "GTO") much more than I liked the first DVD. For those of you who haven't heard of the series (which is... everyone, including me if not for my roomate being a regular anime junkie) it's about a gang leader who decides to turn his life around and go into teaching with some rather controversial teaching ideas, usually including wearing costumes to class and occasionally beating the living shit out of pranksters in his class. The first few episodes went for more of a "badass" approach to the main character, but after that the teacher aptly nicknamed as "Mr. Invincible" becomes far more comedic. Good stuff.
"Noir" and "Chobits" are both on hold until further notice; mainly due to "GTO" and partially due to not having the last DVD in each series (although, we still have more that we haven't watched...). Vandy got ahold of basically every "Initial D" episode ever made, and has been watching the stuff about as much as I've been playing ffxi, which is... a lot. Every once in a while he brings 'em in here and my roomate watches with him, but lately Joe's been playin' ffxi too.
[Adult Swim] claims to be airing new episodes of "Inuyasha" and "Witch Hunter Robin" soon; I forget if they're starting this week or next. I guess I'll find out tonight. The only thing that concerns me really is that it seems like Robin is getting Inuyasha's timeslot, so unless there's a mistake on behalf of the time zones it seems like we're going to have to figure out what time Inuyasha got moved to.
FFXI is going pathetically slow. I've decided I need to take a break from my paladin soon, to let fresh blood catch up to the late lvl 50's; everyone that's good seems to already have static parties, or get snatched up for groups so quickly that they're never availible. Somehow I still have to wait forever for an invite; I'm taking that as a sign that I'm not particularly good, or at least, not particularly well known. So unless I find a static party that needs a tank, I'm going to probably just get to 60, get those last two pieces of artifact armor, and switch jobs for a long while. I'm looking at Red Mage, Bard, and Dark Knight as my primary choices; rdm and brd never go without a group when they need it, and drk... well, I've always wanted to play a sheer damage class, and let's face it, drk have some serious style going for them. I dunno, I'll have to see what happens....
... as for now though, the paladin is lvl 58, half way to 59, and still needs to get his artifact pants and shirt. Gil is still tight, but at least I have SOME cash saved. Sooner or later the linkshell's plans to run BCNM40 will go through and I'll be rich (or dead multiple times, that's possible too). Oh well, at least Apoc's playing again, so I've got another friend to talk to. Now, if only Zippie and Zoofster would start playing again, we'd all be able to group up and have a gay old time. Maybe I should IM Arwen, since my rdm is the same level as hers now (or thereabouts...)
Until next time...
