Well, I had my teaching debut yesterday evening. Megan and I taught beginning waltz to 40 couples!! I was so nervous, but from the sounds of things and the comments from my peers, I think overall it was pretty good. Megan and I were even able to throw in a lot more technique then we originally intended, which is always a good thing.
The I was the DJ for the first time for the social dancing that happened. We use an ancient mp3 player, and I kept hitting the wrong buttons and screwing up. That was slightly sad, but oh well, hopefully next time will be better.
I'm ready for this weekend hopefully. I can't believe we're having our chamber choir retreat already this weekend. I think it'll be a blast, plus we get to start working on double the current rep. This always exciting, because really, thus far there is not one song I don't love to sing in that choir. I think this is one of my favorite things Dr. Z does, pick good rep. Wow, I fail at basic sentance structure. Anywho, The Opera prodution for OSU is going splendidly, we'll be performing at 8 different locations throughout the community. I'm now sing in the chorus for Magic flute, because they needed another tenor, but other than that the prodution organization side of it is awesome.
On the opposite side, Willamette Concert Opera is going great. Il Tabbaro performs next weekend with our usual Portland performance, and a Saturday Corvallis performance. I'll have a slightly bigger part this time, but still just "villager" is is fine by me for sure. Anyway, the duet with the Soprano is going beautifully, and the Chorus, and Tenorino parts are just about there. The performance should prove to be worthwhile.
I think that is all for now, I must go to rehearsal. Have a splendid day.
