Procrastination!

Aug 02, 2007 15:58

I'mm trying desperately hard to be productive but, as you can now tell, I'm not being very successful in my endeavour. This is the bit where I say 'Hoorah! For LJ!'. I love it. It's the ultimate in procrastination.

I'm at Kelvin Grove QUT at the moment having spent the best part of my day at GP. I had a tute in the far flung regions of the GP campus and spent a fair chunk of my time there absolutely convinced that W block didn't actually exist. It turns out that it DOES exist but you have to go through the carpark near the government building and then enter on Level 2 as Level 1 is for deliveries. Whatever. It's a ridiculous place to have a class as there is no air con which means the windows need to be open. That's not such a huge problem except for the fact that the windows open onto the Riverside Expressway. Genius.

I'm back here at 9 tomorrow morning which doesn't excite me all that much. I came for class at 9am last Friday morning (read: we left at 7:45 due to peak hour) and my three hour class lasted for 26 minutes. Needless to say, that didn't exactly impress me. I can read the lecture notes that you asked us to print off for myself. I don't like being read to. Surely, you're knowledge base is more than some basic lecture notes. Enlighten me. I dare you.

Oooooooh! I'm listening to Brooke Fraser's 'Albertine' at the moment and my favourite song ('Hymn') just came on. Love it.

Birthday celebrations have happened. I had a lovely time. I had a delightful lunch with Amanda, Naomi and Dan on my birthday. I was spoilt with lovely earrings from Amanda, a gorgeous cambodian silk beaded cushion from Naomi and lunch from Dan. Paul and Megan came over for dinner and they bought me the clutch that I fell madly and deeply in love with at Doll Face. Mum and Dad spoilt me with a cute overnight/uni bag, tickets to Miss Saigon and some Primer. Clinton bought me a cute Sex Kitten top and a Wayne Cooper skirt. Went to see Miss Saigon on Friday night and even though I knew the ending, I cried. I must confess to being slightly disappointed that they bought the majority of the cast over from the US. I think that Australia has incredible and under-utilised talent, especially in the genre that is Musical Theatre. Although the cast were good. I wouldn't say they were great. Although the Engineer and Kim were astonishingly talented. I'm just not conviced that it was worth bringing the ensemble over. It's not like it is the end of the season or anything and are suffering from exhaustion. It just opened in Brisbane after being in Melbourne. They had a break! No excuse for lazy choreography! *end rant*

Just realised there are computers with couches! I could be on a couch! That's even less conducive to doing this reading that although I have open, I can't even tell you what the name of it is. Ha! No, I must stay in an um-comfy chair. (Reality being that we all know I'm too lazy to pick my stuff up and move). Apparently, I have to find 'N' block before 5pm. Hmmmmmmm......

Today I ran into Amy and we decided that we're going to hang out more. I have no idea when that's going to happen with my absolutely ridiculous uni schedule from hell but we'll make it happen. She's so fun. That reminds me, I'm having lunch with Em tomorrow.

Really going to go and do this reading now. I really am. Right after I go find some panadol for this headache......

presents, uni, birthdays
