What a horrible torturous experience my lecture was today. Three mind-numbing hours of stating the obvious with a few useless comments thrown in by members of the class who think their gift is being humourous. Unfortunately, they all have a distinct lack of humour and nobody thinks they are funny except for them. Todays special was a ten minute discussion between four members of a 100 strong class discussing how hard it is to choose what milk you are going to buy when their are so many choices. The lecture topic was Ethnomethodology. How the topic got to milk I'll never know but I do know that at around week 7 I'm going to go insane at these people. If the lecture can't be finished in 3 hours that means that there is too much time spent on useless and incredibly mundane comments about nothing and not enough time spent on learning what I'm actually paying for. Today I learnt not much about Ethnomethodology and a lot about my tolerance levels and just how long I can stare out a window for. Not impressed.

In other news, it's my birthday. I like birthdays. I also like cake. I made myself a lovely birthday cake yesterday. Rasberry and white chocolate swirl cake. I shall take some to work tomorrow and also leave a piece in the fridge for Jodi. It's so yum.

I'm going to check my emails and then walk to the station to meet Dan on a train. Then it's afternoon tea and a glass (or six) of Champagne.

Have a lovely day!
