Homemade risotto with asparagus and shrooms

Fresh shrooms from Farmers' Market

Vino plus our homemade dessert

One of the main highlights of Pottyland is catching up with TS (and next time it'll be with D). We will chit chat loads and catch up on whatever we have not caught up over email :P Together with H, we had a lovely evening nattering away in her lovely home and we all cooked dinner. Well two of them more than me!

When ingredients are fresh and good, it is hard to cook something wrong. Whilst preparing the food, we snacked on chips and hummus. Our first time cooking risotto, it was a bit of a cheat because we used something out of a box since the fresh grains for risotto wasn't available. We added our own stock and a touch of cream and mixed in our own ingredients. Surprisingly, it tasted freshly made. Good quality food does make a difference :)

Dessert was a last minute concoction. A left over pancake from breakfast, fresh strawberries from the market, leftover cream and a bar of lavendar chocolate that was tucked away in the refridgerator. We whipped up the cream, shaved chocolate into the cream, swirled it and layered it over the pancake with berries in between.

Writing this post makes me want to head out to the supermarket to buy ingredients to cook up a storm!
