Here is a more in depth history I wrote myself, to better understand his personality I believe a more in depth description of his history is needed as wiki simply gives a sample if his character history. Hope this is allowed.
There was a problem with Yoite's birth which caused his Mother to die from the unique complications leaving Yoite with no living intermediate family. Keeping to his Mothers wishes, as she had always hoped for a boy, Yoite was named 'Sora' as his Mother had always liked that name. 'Sora' was, from a young age abused emotionally and seriously neglected, which of course took its toll on the poor child's heart and mind. There was a point as a child that, because of the lack of love and care he should have been getting from a family, that Yoite truly started to question his own existence, believing himself not to be human and in the extreme case not to even be alive. It was so tragic his upbringing that his 'family' used to lock him in the basement, starved him and it was forbidden for him to interact or associate with the other child of the house, his half brother Tsukasa. It got so bad that one night there was an attempt at taking his life by his 'family', they crept into his room in the middle of the night and proceeded in slitting his throat, calling him a 'Death God' as they truly believed due to the strange conditions of his birth that he only brought about destruction, pain and despair. Of course he was not safe here and so he fled into the snowy streets, alone and weak from blood loss, wandering around before finally collapsing due to his drained condition and frost bite.
It was then that he was saved by a man called Tojuro Hattori who worked for the Ministry and was a highly influential political spokesman (Though he had a dark underground life involving black magic which we'll not get into here) It was here, in the Hattori household that he met Yukimi, another adopted child of the family, he took the role of older brother to Yoite and it was him who changed his name from Sora to Yoite (Yoite was the name of his cat) It is purely down to Yukimi that Yoite has any social skills what-so-ever. Not long after living with the Hattori family, Yoite started to show signs of being rather ill, all that time spent locked up with no food had caused his body to become anorexic, this was his fate since the young age of seven so of course this caused him to have a weak if almost nonexistent immune system, calcium deficiency and by the age of ten he had contracted tuberculous, yet being with the Hattori family helped even this tragic outcome. Yukimi encouraged Yoite to eat anything that would be packed with energy, like carbohydrates. Also the doctor the Hattori family used, created a special medication that helps to control the effects of his tuberculous.
Going back to his childhood for a moment, it was seen that since as young as seven Yoite would visit churches just to spend a quiet afternoon looking at the stained glass windows, they seemed to calm the child and allow him some kind of peace and comfort, an escape if you will, from his otherwise horrible life. Listening to the boys choir and just watching them all play and laugh was such a nice experience for him before the family he was with moved him away.
personality: If I had to describe Yoites personality in a few words I would say he's determined, reserved and melancholy, as well as detached, unpredictable and anti-social. The first thing that I'd like to bring your attention to however is the fact that, no matter how you look at it, no matter what your interation and thoughts on the boy ... he is dying and can not be saved. I believe this to be a huge part in the way his personality is seen. Continuing with a few more ways in which Yoite can seem to be seen, I'd say most people would consider him shrewd, judgmental, focused and distrusting, simply for the fact he's never been taught how to properly interact with others. Yoite does not like overly sensitive, sympathetic and emotional people for the fact they confuse him and make him uncomfortable, in saying that though,he is a great listener although he may not put across his thoughts on whatever is being told to him, he'll sit and let you tell him your woes. I personally think this is because he longs to know what feelings truly are, otherwise, seeing the kind of life hes had, I can't see him just enjoying the chit chat. Yoite is goal orientated to the core, he wishes to succeed in his mission and that is final, even after meeting Miharu and growing bonds, his wish remains the same.
Yoite is often called an Emo Kid ... this could not be farther from the truth. He is completely quiet unlike the typical stereotypical 'Emo' Yoite does not go around crying on about how life is unfair and how much he hates his life. No, in fact Yoite has never known love in the first place, what after that upbringing (or lac of one) that he had, he's never been lonely for he's never understood what having friends and family was like to compare it with. The boy is beyond hope, believing that he is not worthy to be alive to the point that he's convinced himself he's not human or is not actually alive in the first place. Yoite is completely adverse to any form of physical affection, what ever you do, do not touch Yoite for the reaction you will gain is probably going to be a slap/punch/push or in extreme cases that finger pointed to your face which will be fatal for both you and himself. He sees himself as nothing more than a weapon because of the Kira technique he possessed, a disposable weapon at that and only wishes to stay alive long enough so that he may finish his purpose before he's tossed away. This makes the boy have no self worth or respect, in the manner of speaking that he does not seem to care that what he does is killing him. Although Yoite's condition causes great upset to those around him, he honestly does not seem to care, that is, until he meets Miharu . In saying all that however I must mention that Yoite does start to show that he is capable of holding a soft spot for Miharu. In order to make himself seem to hold any self worth he tries to protect Miharu, looking after him and willing to give his life to him if need be, while his goal from all this is to be erased from all of existence with the powers Miharu hold within him, he never tells Miharu his true feelings or what he suspects to be feeling, he;d never wish to be a burden to Miharu as he was to his family. One thing that must shows how he is aware of feelings is when he starts to lose his taste and smell, nothing is spoken about it and he'll smile, pretend whatever he's eating was lovely and tasted just right, just so that Miharu doesn't worry. The sweet thing about his personality is that due to his failing senses, his sight and hearing are both failing fast yet he can tell Miharu is around without being able to fully see the boy with his own eyes. Yoite knows he's dying and its something he's accepted and really doesnt seem to bothered about, all he cares is that he is erased, he wants no one to have any memories of him what-so-ever. I must also mention that Yoite has no gender which effects his personality in some aspects. He is neither male nor female though he was raised as a boy,so if someone were to call him Sora or comment on his feminine like shape it would probably gain a bad reaction from Yoite, he really doesn't want to be constantly reminded of his tragic past. Also, it doesn't effect his appearance that much, he is slim and tall, with no chest yet his voice is more male even if soft spoken, than female, though somehow his figure remains the same even thought he has got into the habit of eating vast amounts now.
A huge part of his personality is his illness due to the power he holds called 'Kira', he is dependent on medication to help his circulatory system as it is seen to be completely shutting down, feeble, brittle and fragile are how this makes him seem all of the time, narcolepsy is a symptom of his illness too, growing too weak and just falling asleep so expect to see Yoite lounging around a lot of the time when he's not doing anything. He is un able to hold heat and thus seen to be wearing warm cloths and blankets most of the time, scarfs and gloves as well as a hat. Yoite is always shivering or bundling up in a corner somewhere to hide, believing that if hes out of the way, he's not a bother to anyone. A few little facts about Yoite that might shine through some lighter parts of his personality are that when he was younger he was very good at baseball and basketball, one of the few things he actually enjoyed for a short time that he could play them. As I mentioned in his history he is calmed by stained glass windows.If you can make him vanilla cake or lemonade you might be able to spend time with Yoite.
abilities: (1) Kira this is his only power, a forbidden art that allows the user to enter the circulatory system and tear them apart from inside out, or jump start a heart. All he needs to do is point his finger at that person.
any plans for your character here? Of course Yoite will be looking for Miharu, and if Miharu isn't there he'll be looking for a way to find him. There will be much trouble for Yoite as once his medication runs out ... it won't be long before he gives up and dies. I would like, for the time he would be in Hometrail, to try and learn more about friendship, love and emotions, I believe it would be a good place for him to learn and grow.
possessions: He would have with him a small supply of his cardiac medication. The scarf Miharu gave him and his hat and gloves.

So we all buy or make presents for someone we care about and give them to each other on this day? Yoite will never understand ... Why make and give someone a gift when its not their birthday? Why give someone a gift on their birthday in the first place? ... Yoite will have to as Miharu more about this, I don't understand why a birthday is so special ... I'm ... I'm not even sure Yoite had a birthday ...I .. I'd rather not remember ... But if I make and give something to Miharu on this Christmas, it will make Miharu happy? .... Yoite would like to see Miharu happy ... I'll go now, go and get something for Miharu. ... Why kind of things do you give away on Christmas? What can I get Miharu?.

It was cold, the snow was heavy as it fell around the two thin boys taking cover in the old baseball bleachers of the school baseball diamond. Yoite was shivering, running rusty brown leather gloves together in hopes that the friction would be warming enough to heat those blackened ends of his decomposing fingers, Miharu's smaller frame leaning against his shoulder as Yoite snuggled into the warm wool scarf that twirled around both boys necks. A single snowflake fell slowly right before his face and curious over why Miharu was wide eyed in wonder at the small thing, he tried to capture it upon the tip of his finger. As Miharu marveled at the snowflake, Yoite marveled at Miharu. Why so much wonder? "Uwah! Yoite! That's a really pretty one!" The small, normally apathetic male chorused with dazzling forest green eyes, turning to swallow Yoite whole with that adorable expression. It wasn't a total wast, Yoite felt almost good to see Miharu so happy. "Its just snow ... I don't et it" The genderless male piped in with, watching while the snowflake melted into nothing but a trickle of ice cold water that only gained an incline of Yoite's curious head. "My Grandmother said snowflakes are tears from Angels that have frozen on their way down from heaven, Yoite, no one snowflake is the same as another, they are all unique and beautiful ... they come and go and there is never another one like the last ever." As Miharu spoke, Yoite listened with great interest ... in a way, he was envious of the snowflakes ... coming and going, just like that ... just as he wanted to.Watching as soon there was no single trace of the snowflake left ... none what-so-ever. "Miharu? ... I think I'd like to have been a snowflake."
