Action: So glad you didn't respond to this earlier as my brain was asleepiam_thebadwolfSeptember 5 2011, 05:47:47 UTC
[Rose was already on her way when she got the Doctor's three texts. She waves at the receptionist and makes her way back to the lab where the Doctor works.]
So this is the cycle thing we were talkin' 'bout? What you're hopin' to be able to store for later, yeah?
I don't even know why I didn't. I know I saw it before falling asleep.am_i_being_rudeSeptember 6 2011, 02:52:48 UTC
[He can tell when Rose is coming a few seconds before she opens the door, and continues looking at something through a microscope with his 3D glasses on when she does.] If it works, yes. Given that it feeds off an energy specifically created by an individual under certain circumstances, working out how it interacts with a morphic field and isolating it might be the key to learning how to keep it stored. [He looks up at her.] Good place to start, anyway, since I know more about fields than these cycles.
[It might be something she pesters him about just because she's curious.]
Right. [She nods but she's got that expression on her face like she's trying to catch up but isn't going to ask him to slow down. If she did that every time, he'd end up looking at her like she was drooling.] One part at a time s'best way anyhow.
[It's really not anything terribly interesting. She can probably do the same thing if she thinks about it.]
Yeah, one part at a time. [He's glancing down at the things he was working on, then back up to her. He pushes the 3D glasses up on top of his head, so that he's just got his normal ones on and looks at her.] Something like that, anyway. Did you say something about Jack?
[Rose presses her lips together, considering her words before she speaks.]
I was talkin' to Mercy. Jack's in a coma or some sort at her house but she said somethin' 'bout he was immortal? I told her she had to be wrong. Jack's just human, right?
[Yeah. She sees that surprise and it makes her even more curious.]
Right. [And she levels that 'I'm not buying this, Doctor' look at him.] So what else is he? Enough time travel make you immortal? [Because it's the only solution she's been able to come up with and it might make sense. A little anyway.]
Sssommething like that. [Yeah, that look. He takes a moment to take both sets of glasses off entirely and set them down, and then looks back over at her.] Jack's completely human as far as I can tell, he's just a little on the immortal side. Has been for quite a while, relatively speaking.
[She presses the tip of her tongue against the back of her teeth as she considers this. There are bits about that time that are a little foggy, so filled with pain and light and absolute awe not to mention too many timelines to follow clearly. It takes her a moment and even when she's got it, she doesn't want it so her voice is filled with doubt, asking him to tell her she's wrong.]
It was me. Somethin' I did with the time vortex...when I brought him back?
[Oh Rose, you are so clever. He's quick to try and mitigate this realisation.] You saved him first. Jack died fighting, Rose. You gave him a second chance, albeit a little extended.
Been talkin' to Mercy 'bout Jack.
[Yeah, the Jack's immortal thing has come up]

Come on up. Just playing with morphic fields.

I mean, I'm not busy. What about Jack again?
(13:44)
Nevermind just tell me when you get here

Well... He's not, not-human...
