the past few days have been quite emotional. i love my job, i really do. however, it can be really heart-wrenching... especially for a huge animal lover like myself. yesterday we had a dog come in that had been hit by a car. his body was covered in blood but his precious little face was fine. he just looked at me with those big droopy eyes, and i was gone. they worked and worked to get him somewhat stabilizied and finally were able to. he was looking around and responding when we talked to him. he was like that for an hour. then, all of the sudden, he died. the doctor had already told the owner (a girl my age) that he was expected to make a full recovery because all of his vital signs were completely within normal range. he ended up getting a blood clot in his lung. i cried and cried, and it wasn't even my dog! it reminded me so much of losing roxy and how hard it was. it was like losing a part of my family. anyway, days like that are hard. it makes me appreciative to come home and see ella, luna, tibi, & willow's sweet little faces. i love them so much.
