Instead of laying me off, Volt is transferring me to East Peoria. I've bumped someone else out of their job, but at least I'll still be employed.

damnit, I know I saw a chemist position this morning on one of the job websites. I am thinking of making a yahoo E group for those of us without jobs or soon to be without. Then we could all post jobs we find back and forth.

Yeah, my Cat team lead (and good friend) found out about us being let go from the Tech Center, but didn't know that transfer was a possibility. He couldn't stand to not tell me, so he went ahead and gave me the bad news, and unfortunately didn't know the potential good news to relay at the same time.
