New Years Resolution: Date David Bowie

Well, I'm not going to pass up this chance to talk about myself.

1. What did you do in 2005 that you'd never done before?   Listened to several straight hours of accordion music

2. Did you keep your New Years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?  i do not make new years resolutions

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? no

4. Did anyone close to you die? not really

5. What countries did you visit? england and ireland

6. What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005? a job with a competent boss

7. What dates from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory? 3/17, 10/13...or was it 10/12?

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? presenting my thesis at a conference, getting into law school

9. What was your biggest failure? losing a battle with gravity

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? i learned a lesson in newtonian physics from a horse, oh and i can't eat sugar

11. What was the best thing you bought? plane ticket to London, semester of law school

12. Whose behavior merited celebration? mine

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? well, the president made me depressed, but appalled seems to have the connotation of surprise and it didn't really surprise me

14. Where did most of your money go? university of new mexico school of law

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? conference/traveling to England/Ireland, getting into law school, David Bowie, living by myself, my last trip to a thrift store (very successful), coming home for christmas, music, swing dancing, cheese, classes, horses, the dublin irish festival, visiting nicole in seattle, etc.

16. What song/album will always remind you of 2005? Brave Combo, The Jimmy Hendrix Polka

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
    i. happier or sadder?: happier
    ii. older or wiser?: can't i be both?  i'm both
    iii.thinner or fatter?: thinner (woohoo)
    iv. richer or poorer? so much poorer

18. What do you wish you'd done more of? horseback riding

19. What do you wish you'd done less of? horseback falling

20. How did you be spend Christmas? lounging around my parent's house

21.? There is not question for 21, so I will answer 7.

22. Did you fall in love in 2005?  nope

23. How many one night stands in this last year? that would be telling

24. What was your favorite TV program? House, Crossing Jordan  In fact, it would be the best thing ever if they combined them into one show.  Hugh Laurie how I love you.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? Nah, I kept all my hatred the same

26. what was the best book you read? geez, that's hard... um...

27. What was your greatest musical discovery? Richard Thompson

28. What did you want and get? Into law school, into the conference in liverpool (i wonder how many times i can use this answer)

29. What did you want and not get? a hammock

30. What was your favorite film of this year? harry potter?  lion the witch and the wardrobe?  i don't think i saw any other films.

31. What did you do on your birthday? i think i went out to dinner with nicole

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? dating David Bowie

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2005? covered in glue

34. What kept you sane? who says i'm sane?

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you like the most? David Bowie

36. What political issue stirred you the most? Iraq, Katrina, the lack of national health care, minuteman project

37. Who did you miss? the city of dayton

38. Who was the best new person you met? Luce Irigaray

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2005.  Do not assume that you will stop with the horse.  Also, don't lean against the walls of Buckingham Palace or try to sleep in the Dublin airport.
