I fucking hate traffic!!!! I want a motorbike!!!
AGH!!!! What has happened today with traffic? Today, on my way into work I hit traffic on Dalston High Street. I had a 5pm appointment at the dentist and left work at 4pm right on the dot. I even stood there and waited for the clock to hit 4 before swiping out. Off I go and things seem to be nice until.........I get on the A102. Things seem to be running smoothly, but then I see a queue by Bromley by Bow station. Ok, no problem. It is only 4:12pm. Plenty of time. WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!! They closed down one lane southbound in the Blackwall Tunnel and for some reason the northbound side was completely closed. I see police cars all over the place, but no indication what is happening. I finally get through the other side by 5pm! And I see a massive queue of cars on the other side backed all the way up to Kidbrooke! So, I rush to the dentist and get there 20 minutes late. I explain, breathlessly, what happened. The dentist took pity and my teeth are now pearly white and clean. :)
I think - plenty of time before I have to head off to kung fu. I amble along to the shop to get dog food and little things I need. Then, I realise - oh shit, my belt and socks are at home and they are strict in the school that you must wear your uniform. So, I go home - yes, still plenty of time. I send off a few emails and head over to class with plenty of time to spare. I am looking forward to practicing tonight in order to relieve some tension.
In Greenwich, I notice there is a queue and it starts to build and get heavier by the time I get to Deptford High Street. Ambulances and police cars go rushing by and the traffic is at a stand-still! Time is ticking by faster and faster. Before I know it the clock says it is nearly 8pm. Too late to make it, so I just head home. What in the hell has happened today?
