A throng of devotees and litter-strewn floors make a picture messy. Two cameras. A 16-35 fitted to my 20D and the 70-200 to the office's. Heavy. A sweltering 35 degree heat. Sweaty. Sleepy. The impatience and over eagerness to get that ONE good picture.
It wasn't a good day out of phototaking. Sweating like a dog and cursing myself for lugging out two cameras, i found myself irritated with the crowd - every second of two devotees are coming in and out of the frame, making it so hard to get a clean shot. Louis came with me and perhaps that was the only consolation. Like Nicky once told me, "Don't go home until you get that one TPX shot".
I didn't make the cut.
I suppose patience wasn't a virtue and i wandered around the two temples in search of a good scene. None. Somehow i thought it would be more productive to be circling the vicinity to maximise my chances of spotting a good picture. Guess not. So the photographer is no different from a sniper, poised and steady in his position - ready to take out his target swiftly and accurately when it arrives. I'm more like the bloodthirsty foot soldier - always looking for action and just dying to fire some shots at anything. Slowly and gradually i'll improve. Least the pictures are properly exposed now. Least the picture that made the grade yesterday got to the worldwide wire. Ho well, somehow, someday.
I think i prefer portraits and inanimate objects.
