Casa de Aly is relocating
I have big news! I am moving from northern Virginia to New Hampshire! Or possibly southern Maine. This all happened very quickly. I'm very excited, but very nervous as well.
And yes, the husband is moving with me. Actually, it was mostly his idea. And he was very aggressive with contacting people within our agency about transferring.
This weekend I need to finish fixing up our house so that we can get it on the market ASAP. And next weekend, we are off to New Hampshire for a week of house hunting. You know, its amazing how much more house we can buy up there, compared to here.
Our new office is only about 15 minutes from my sister's house, and about an hour from my parents - which is the main reason we are moving. For so long, I have been putting my career above everything else. It took me a long time (and a lot of misadventures) to realize that I need to find a better balance between my professional and personal life. So, this is it. The new job will be much less stressful. I will be able to focus on other things. And take my niece to the Boston Aquarium! And all sorts of other things I want to do. If only I didn't have to deal with those pesky New England winters. Yuck.
I think we're gonna have to buy a snowplow. And some long underwear. LL Bean, here we come.
