That's pretty awesome. I'd heard of it hear and there over the last several years, after discovering Visual Kei music through finding out that Malice Mizer's Gackt had donned an outfit much like Castlevania'a Alucard in his Symphony of the Night incarnation, and that the band had a song with the same name as Symphony's Japanese version. For a while, I wasn't too fussed, but then in the autumn of 2008 I discovered the band Versailles, and found out through them about Alice and Pirates, and saw Vampire Requiem and the Azure vest. It then took another few years for me to take the plunge into buying and wearing any LOlita however, It was after Meeting my good friend Kraken_Terrorist and finding out that we'd both heard about this interesting Japanese fashion and were curious about it that we started talking about it. Bit by bit we found ourselves both slipping into actually wanting to wear it. In Jan 2011 I finally took the plunge and bought Vampire Forest (before xmas I'd been oogling over Queen's Coach (OP and skirt) in black and Masquerade Theatre in black and navy but these sold out before I could get them, grrr!). Literally days after I'd purchased VF, I was informed that VR was being re-released. Cue epic all-nighter stint of yacking to Kraken until the reservations opened and we smashed buttons until we got our skirts. Part of me is wishing now that I'd gone sod it and also tried to get a dress as well, in black of course. Thus began my collecting of stuff over the course of the next 18 months, which happily included Gathered Chiffon and the Azure Vest, both other wishlist items, being rereleased. I only lack black Queen's Coach now from that original wishlist.
I know! It's something that I find very interesting myself. Your way of getting into it via the dolls is pretty awesome. :) I had told myself I would get only a couple of dresses, nothing more. To be honest, I still consider myself more of an aristocrat than a lolita in terms of my style.
