Actually, it was March 28, 2022.

I found it quite ironic that I have a fangirl date for Press Hit Play, but I have no idea what my fangirl date was for SB19.
Anyway, this LJ entry is dedicated to my newest fandom, Press Hit Play. Press Hit Play is a 4-member Filipino boy group.
https://instagram.com/p/CgwIcBsO1UA I met Press Hit Play way before March 28 though. I met them in 2021, when they haven't even debuted yet, Some of the members actually trained under ShowBT Philippines, which is also the same company where SB19 trained at. So some of the members were already known. Besides that, I met one of the former members, J.O. He was supposed to debut with Press Hit Play, but he had other offers that he couldn't refuse. Dear old, Twitter Spaces was the first time I met J.O and even though he wasn't part of PHP anymore, he still talked about them to encouraged listeners to look forward to PHP's debut.
So I met Press Hit Play when they still had six members. They released their debut song WIN, and I thought it was super good and super fun!

I thought they were pretty good, and I thought the song was really catchy. But I didn't really think much of it.
I did notice that I was following them on their social media accounts. Then there came a time that an exclusive virtual meet and greet was announced for PHP. And for some odd reason, I really really really wanted to participate. I wasn't even a fan of them yet, In the end, I didn't get to do it, And of course, looking back at it now, I regret it. :(

When their first comeback came out, I was super happy with Tell Me! I love the retro vibes, I love the entire music video, it has that classic look! And I still wasn't a fan of PHP!
I think it started when I can't find anything to watch in Youtube. And while scrolling through Youtube, the MYXclusive interview of Press Hit Play just popped out and I just decided to watch it.

After that video, I watched another interview of theirs, And I fell in love with all of them/ I love their humor, personalities, their journeys, their stories. Most of all I love that they do everthing on their own. They pretty much started as independent artists. Independent to the point that their pre-debut songs were recorded in a closet full of pillows, their music videos were shot with an iPhone and they were the only once who produced them.

When PPOP CON 2022 rolled around, I really really really wanted to fly back home to the Philippines to watch SB19 and Press Hit Play. It was a week before the convention, and that was the point I decided to ask my boss if I could go to the Philippines. It was Press Hit Play's song WIN that really gave me the courage to take that leap of faith and ask my work if I could. " Want It Now di ba Aly?" That was my mantra when I marched to my boss's office. In the end though, it didn't work out so I didn't get to go. But that was such an amazing fangirl moment for me.
After a few months, it was announced on two different occasions that Yukito and Zi.O left the group, From seven members, we were down to four members.
Yuuki, Charles, Sev, and JP decided to still keep at it. And I was so sad and happy about that, But mostly proud that they still want to keep fighting the fight,

When Tugatog Festival rolled around, Press Hit Play was the only performance that I was looking forward too. I woke up at 2am just to watch the concert, and all I wanted to watch was them. They were so amazing! I loved their collabs and their performance. And when they finished their set, I went to Twitter and tried to make some noise. I saw a tweet where J.O, Yukito, and Zi.O were in the audience watching the concert too. And I just started bawling! It was that realization, that I will never see all seven of them perform together live. It was that realization that there's only four of them left and they still want to continue this journey. It was that realization that they're so strong as a group and individually as they go through all the things that were happening to their group,
Press Hit Play means so much to me and I didn't even notice it. As much as I can I will support them. And hopefully someday, I get to meet them.
But for now, here's one of the best fan interaction that I got with Press Hit Play:
Ito yung exiciting part!!! Grabe naiiyak ako nung nakita ko yung galak nila sa gawa ko 😭 paulit-ulit toh sakin.
@FlarePhOfficial salamat sa pag challenge samin sa fanart!!! Worth it yung puyat kasi napasaya ko sila! 💛
