I promise to not post any more pictures for a bit. I'm sure y'all are on sensory overload from my journal. It's just so exciting. Learning more about my camera, using editing programs, posting them for others...
Anyways, in my non-camera life. Things are really well. I am finally almost done with my second job. My last day is July 31st. I will only be waitressing from now on. I'm excited as I have been working seven days a week graveyard for the past two weeks. It's really hard. I am working four days a week waitressing and three days cashiering at the Truck Stop. But yeah, I don't think I'll know what to do when I finally have a day off.
Also, been playing softball once a week. It's been a pain in the ass at times. My friend who was going to "co-coach" with me, moved to South Carolina one weekend and didn't tell me. Her and I have a history of losing touch and then coming back together, but I can't remember a time when either of us just left and didn't tell the other. Anyways, what should have been a two person job (organizing, uniforms, release forms...) fell on my shoulders, and I've been working seven days a week. It's been interesting. We have had a good time this past couple weeks though, our team is finally coming together and we've been winning. (yay!) We play double headers once a week, and we won both games tonight. I love playing, but I will NEVER volunteer to put a team together again.
My family members are all well. My sisters and I went to a concert a couple weekends ago. We went and saw the Alanis Morrisette, Jagged Little Pill acoustic with, the ever-fabulous, Jason Mraz opening. I think we honestly went MORE for Jason Mraz than Alanis, but there was no denying that it was her show. Mraz was amazing and wonderful as always, and Alanis was incredible too. We are looking forward to the Jason Mraz headlining tour. For those of you who think his music is really mainstream and poppy, I encourage you to try and find some of his acoustic/live music. It's a completely different story. He's got MAJOR MAJOR talent.
Aubree, Ken and I are going to Dave Matthews at the Gorge in August. I look forward to that trip every summer. This year I have tickets to all three shows and am so ready for a mini-vacation. We have started making food and cooking lists. It's funny, but you really do have to plan ahead. You have to decide on meals, because if you want to do anything with meat or dairy, you have to cook it in the first two days. After that, your ice is melted and you can't keep things cold. So the last two days of camping are usually spaghetti or mac and cheese. It's not rocket science, but it's not easy either.
I am going to see my friend David from AmeriCorps in October. We haven't seen each other since graduation day in South Carolina more than two years ago. I am very very excited, to see him and to go to Los Angeles. It's somewhere I've never been, and I like to visit big cities. You could just never pay me to live in one. I don't know what we'll do when I get there, but I do know we'll probably drink a lot of wine and maybe sing some Queen songs...ha ha. I could care less if I see a lot of the city, I just want to hang out.
Ken and I are doing wonderfully well. It's weird to say that after everything that's happened in the last year. We're still going slow, I live at my parent's...and he live's with a friend. I am hoping that in the next year or so, we'll be able to move out together, but I refuse to live in an apartment and throw rent money away. Hopefully we'll be finding a house, or building on property that my family owns out in the country.
It seems like there is LOTS more to say, but I have to take a bath and wash my hair before work. It's been really hot here this last week and I sweated like crazy out on the softball field. (Okay, now I really really want to post a picture of the team). Maybe after my bath. Anyways, take care of you and yours. I'll try and write again soon!
