(no subject)
i got a call tonight from an unknown number so i let it ring through and waited to see if there was a msg.
there was, and when i checked it i was -vaguely- able to ascertain that it was my aunt marian.
as far as i could tell, the msg said "your mother is in a lot of pain and i love her more than any of you"
confused, and worried, i put down the phone only to see that another msg had already arrived.
the second one said "i'm sorry, alysn, i love you so much but she's hurting and you're the family healer, just like me, you need to fix this i need you to call me back"
keep in mind that these brief msgs where interrupted frequently by coughing/gasping.
so, i shakily called her back.
my aunt marian is the least functioning of all my mothers alcoholic siblings. (there are four, all alcoholics - one recovering)
she was obviously drinking, and smoking, and crying.
she basically said she felt like my brother was dead to her, that mom was really in pain, that it was my responsibility to fix everything and she missed me.
that addition to my evening is really going to help me on the three finals i have tomorrow, i'm sure.
