Why was Before Sunset not given more attention in the media? I had never even heard of this film but the script is brilliantly written in the sense that the entire movie is based around one conversation that two people have (while wandering the streets in Paris) and I was never bored. There is so much meaning in a lot of the things they say, and the film really gives you something to think about. I'm not going to elaborate any further because my wrist is sore and I'm finishing a picture that I've been working on for ages, so I don't want to strain it too much. Really, I think that everyone should get this film though.
I've also just finished watching Capote- a movie about the writing process of Truman Capote's novel, "In Cold Blood", which I haven't yet been able to read. I have a book-worm friend that had never heard of him so I'm going to list a few other titles: 'Other Voices, Other Rooms.'' It was huge at one time and was the book that really launches his career. There's also ''Breakfast at Tiffany's,'' (Please tell me you've at least heard of that people) ''The Muses Are Heard,'' ''The Grass Harp,'' ''Local Color,'' ''The Dogs Bark'' and ''Music for Chameleons.'' Here's a link where you can read a little bit more about the author if you're interested.
http://www.nytimes.com/books/97/12/28/home/capote-obit.htmlI just finished reading Generation X, and it's brilliant, although it also comes off as slightly....hmm, pretentious? I think of some woman saying "Daawling, tres drole" and brandishing a long cigarette when trying to describe it. In any case, I enjoyed the book very much and will probably read it again sometime. Kinda makes you think about life: about how you should never take it for granted and appreciate the small things.
Well, I'm off.
