How to know you've arrived in fandom...

So, today started well. Was on my way to a breakfast seminar when someone ran into the back of my car. I was stationary, waiting for the lights to change, and apparently she had her head in the clouds. Thankfully no one was hurt, and there doesn't appear to be any damage to either car - not even a scratch on my bumper - but it didn't half give ( Read more... )

Bastard.

Not you, obviously.

Will go spread the news. Who knows who else this twit has stolen from?

Yep. If she's done it once, and so blatantly, you can guarantee that I'm not the only one - it pretty much means that everything she's written stands a good chance of being lifted from somewhere else.

The fuck?

I'm going to blatantly steal one of kuwdora's comments: May I please puke in this person's shoes?

Oh, typical. ::rolls eyes:: I never understood why people do this! Where has she posted it, honey? I'll go and make snarky comments.

I'm glad you weren't hurt in the crash this morning. ::hugs::

It's linked from the post above :)

And I think davechicken may have beaten you to the snarking and, apparently, been banned from commenting on this person's LJ. Because that's going to make it go away (and Emma was very, very polite - all she did was point the people saying how much they loved it to my story and mention that perhaps they might like to give their praise where it was due).

I don't understand it, either. I just don't get it.

Thank goodness you weren't hurt in the accident. She was probably on her cell phone. Grr.

You should report the plagiarism to stop_plagiarism

I don't think she was on the phone. I think she just wasn't paying attention and thought I was going to move forward (the lights were still on red, but there was a hatched 'do not pull into this space' no waiting zone in front of me so that traffic could still turn into the side road from the other direction).

I think she was mortified to be honest. So after making sure that she was okay and reassuring her that I was okay and the cars seemed to be, there wasn't much point in making a fuss. I felt a bit strange, though.

And I've already reported it to stop_plagiarism, thanks :) It's weird. I've dealt with it from the other side - I've been running archives since 2000 and it crops up at least once a year - but never from this side.

I think I must have 'made it' ;)

I'm going to use my Connor icon, because Connor makes me happy :)

*purrs like a contented evil dragon*

Glad you weren't injured, and we'll see the little shit chased well out of fandom. For now, anyway.

*applauds* that was an awesome way to handle the situation. I loved the passive level of the snarking in those comments. :)

Davechicken, you are my hero. They way you dealt with that person was actually quite elegant. Well done.
