Summer
So this summer has been full of ups and downs.
My summer started with jumping into a full time job a couple of days after finishing school. I know for a lot of people this isn't a big deal but I've never had a FULL time job before, so I had a lot of adjusting to do. It has been an enjoyable experience, flexible boss and good coworkers, great pay (for a summer job), plus they are totally cool with me coming back next summer. ^_^
Faire was amazing this year! I was able to continue to grow in my ability as a actress as well as making new discoveries about myself. I was given many different opportunities to better myself, some of them fun and some of them very painful, but in the end it all helped me to grow and mature. ... I can't wait to see what next year will bring!
I got to visit my dad and sibs in indy over the 4th which was wonderful. I miss my sibs A LOT! Plus it was fun to blow shit up with them. ^_^ ... I got to talk to my dad about some shit that I needed to deal with for my sanity. Fortunately, we had a very insightful discussion, cleared a lot of shit from the air, and came up with a compromise that, if practiced, will help to improve and reform our relationship.
I had another one of my life dreams come true this summer. I got to not only attend a Weird Al concert but actually get to meet him!! Most of my friends don't understand the deep meaning this carries in my family but trust my .... It's HUGE! ^_^
On the down side, I lived in a fantasy for most of the summer and was not ready to quit when reality decided it was time to wake me up with a mighty slap in the face. ... I put a lot of myself out there .... but I don't regret any of it.
On a more recent note, D-Fest was this past weekend, which was AMAZING! I got to hang out with some friends that I haven't seen in a long time. They had great music and the MC Chris show was ROCKING! I got to dance and had a great time with it. Plus I think that I may have experienced a second hand high from all the weed going around the venues. It's was a good way to help bring my summer to a close.
Looking to the future, school is starting in 2 weeks. I'm ready to return to my books but this year shall prove harder given my degree plan and the fact that I will have to work in addition to everything else. I hope I have the will power for it!
