ok, this is really starting to tick me off

It is not that hard to understand someone with an accent. It just requires enough respect/non-apathy to put a little bit of effort into listening. I realise not everyone grew up in as diverse an area as I did, but that doesn't mean everyone can't learn how to listen to people.

Nevertheless, you are welcome to gripe to your heart's content about your TA's accent.

JUST DON'T SMEGGING RUN A CAMPAIGN ON THE PREMISE OF "VOTE FOR ME BECAUSE I HATE INTERNATIONAL TAs".

At best that's dumb. The officers of the union, AFAIK, have no control over who gets hired as TAs - and even if they did, refusing to hire anyone with an accent is probably some kind of illegal. At worst it's bordering on racist. (Someone is probably going to be angry that I used that word. After consideration I've decided to leave it in.)

If you really have to have TAs who speak better English or speak with an American accent, talk to all your friends who speak the way you want and convince them to TA. If the announcements in the CS department are any indication, there's usually a shortage of TAs.
